It will be made available on all popular cloud platforms, starting with Amazon Web Services and later to be followed by Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.<\/p>\n<p>MongoDb Atlas takes away the load of operational tasks like upgrading and failure recovery from the developers. It claims to provide great scalability, with features to scale up to any instance size and scale out with automatic sharding, allowing users to create as big an application as they can dream of. MongoDB also claims at zero application downtime during scaling and upgradation.<\/p>\n<p>MongoDB Atlas is supposedly designed to provide high availability and self-healing qualities. Recovery from failures is transparent and fully automated. At least three copies of all user data are replicated and stored across different availability zones and are continuously backed up.<\/p>\n<p>MongoDB Atlas also claims to have several levels of security, all built in and activated by default. These include end-to-end data encryption, network isolation, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Keeping in mind the tendency of deploying on more than one public cloud platform at a time, MongoDB Atlas is designed for multi-vendor cloud strategies by providing the same set of features and efficiency across a number of public cloud vendors.<br \/>\nSome important features of MongoDB Atlas are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ready-to-use turnkey management of popular NoSQL database.<\/li>\n<li>Possibility of deployment over various public cloud platforms.<\/li>\n<li>High security with multiple levels.<\/li>\n<li>High scalability.<\/li>\n<li>Fault-tolerant and self-healing architecture.<\/li>\n<li>Regular, automatic backups to protect data against loss.<\/li>\n<li>Replicating of data automatically across various availability centres to safeguard against data centre failure.<\/li>\n<li>Flexible and minimal pricing.<\/li>\n<\/ul\nMongoDB Atlas appears to be a rather promising database service, especially with the track record of their NoSQL database.
