Do’s and Don’ts to get One Million Downloads for Your App

One million app downloads are a serious achievement for any level of developer and unfortunately, this is not something that many app developers can talk about. However, there are some ways that have been identified which can definitely take you on that journey of being a member of the “One Million download” club.
Let us look at some of the Do’s and Don’ts you must adopt in order to reach this number.

Do’s:

App Preview Video
If you don’t have an App preview video, the chances of your app getting featured on the app stores is highly unlikely. There are many preview videos out there which you can use as reference. Making a review that explains the main features of your application is something that you should definitely do.

Screenshots and Descriptions
Self-explanatory screenshots are extremely essential. They are useful in presenting how the app works. When we talk about descriptions, we are essentially talking about how your app functions and what a prospective user should know about your application. While an attractive app description is critical to your rating, it is also equally important to give it a touch of certain relevant keywords that will only boost your rating.

Email communication once your application is approved
Apple generally takes about 3 weeks for their consideration into the app store. This means that you will have to ensure that your application is in the “ready to release by developer” list for at least 3 weeks or more. It doesn’t matter how incredible your application is, if you are giving Apple only a week’s notice, there is no chance that your app can get selected for consideration.

Don’t’s:

Releasing during festive or holiday season
Unless your application is catered to the holiday season, there is no reason why you should schedule your release for then. This is because there is already so much competition during these times, you’ll just be one of those applications that are surrounding the application store. There isn’t any concrete reason as to why you shouldn’t publish your application during the holiday seasons but if you are looking for tractions, then it is important to choose a more feasible time.

Releasing your app every six weeks
There are more than one ways that your app can get featured. For example- if your app doesn’t get featured as a new application, you can always get it featured as a new app updates. Make sure that your app updates are extremely enticing. Another important thing to keep in mind is that you shouldn’t send too many requests to the Apple Team because it could overload the Apple Team and you’ll most likely be considered as a spam product.

Now that you know some of the Do’s and Don’t’s you should be following, it is important to keep these in mind as you launch your app into the world.
