BEST WEB DESIGN TRENDS

The best and top web design trends include powerful and innovative trends emerging, in 2015. When we think about web design, designer must consider the full spectrum of possibilities that the internet presents and super cool imagination. This year would be very exciting year for web designers. We predict many of them to become mainstream in 2015. Trends like:

The emergence of the scrolling site

We forget how hard scrolling webpages used to be. It is easier for users to simply scroll through a page to get their information than it is to constantly click to find information. Before we go any further, lets take a second to define the difference between fullscreen and scrolling sites. The fullscreen site is designed to display all content above the “fold.” The fold, in the world of web design, is the bottom of the screen. With the scrolling site however, content is no longer constrained to the height of the screen, instead it overflows vertically and most be scrolled.

Background Video

The most obvious benefit of having a video background on your website is that it makes up for visual presentation. More and more video content is being generated every day, and modern internet users often tend to prefer videos and images over plain text. As such, incorporating a video background in your web design can actually go a long way to bringing your design to life. Videos can tell stories that can otherwise not be described by means of static text content. This can add to the visual experience of your website and impress your visitors.

Parallax Scrolling

A design technique that has become increasingly popular lately — and not without reason. With parallax scrolling you can do a bunch of great things to invite your visitors to engage with your site. The interactive nature of parallax scrolling is an obvious advantage, and so is the level of engagement that comes with it. The direct feedback that comes with parallax scrolling is engaging and extremely motivating.

If you want to dive into parallax scrolling yourself, no worries, there are plenty of resources out there that will help you with it.

Professional high quality custom photography

Stock imagery still has its place in design, but for most new websites these days, stock imagery has taken a back seat to professional photography of high quality and unique and custom to the site and purpose.

Using custom photography takes the design step a bit further than just picking stock imagery, and it makes you unique in that no one else will have those same pictures on their site.

Hidden main menus

This is also a technique of responsive design that is starting to be carried over into all of a site’s design instead of just small viewports. It gives an engaging look to your website. This technique uses the hamburger icon in the top right of his site to hide the main navigation until the visitor clicks on it.

Performance and speed

Page loading time is obviously an important part of any website’s user experience. And many times we’ll let it slide to accommodate better aesthetic design, new nifty functionality or to add more content to web pages. Unfortunately, website visitors tend to care more about speed than all the bells and whistles we want to add to our websites. Additionally, page loading time is becoming a more important factor when it comes to search engine rankings.

Site designers and developers are becoming more keenly aware of the weight of their sites and how their users interact with them. Responsive Web design has helped bring to light these concerns.

It will be no surprise that the need to be faster and perform flawlessly with no lag time will drive design decisions on many new websites launching in 2015.
